15. Christian Wins The Big One - Extreme Rules 2011
A lot of people had Christian pegged as the 'Marty Janetty' of the Edge & Christian tag team. After a phenomenal run between 1999 and 2001, the WWF decided to send the kayfabe Canadian brothers (and real-life best friends) their separate ways. The taller Edge was clearly viewed as the future star. Edge was pushed from the get-go whilst Christian floundered and inevitably found himself back in makeshift tag teams (Test, Chris Jericho, Tomko etc.). Feeling fed up with his lack of main event push in spite of his enormous popularity, Christian hedged his bets in TNA whilst The Rated-R Superstar become one of the top guys in the business. Christian returned to the WWE in 2009 and won the ECW Championship, which was nice, but it wasn't the World Heavyweight Championship. WWE still viewed him as a C show player. When Edge retired on the post-WrestleMania XXVII Raw, however, they sensed an opportunity to elevate Christian. Captain Charisma won the World Heavyweight Championship in a gripping ladder match against Alberto Del Rio at Extreme Rules on May 1st 2011. It was a great moment and nobody deserved it more than Christian. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zihdu2WXQNw
