4. WrestleMania 27, 1,059,000 Buys
How odd does it feel that The Miz can say he main evented and won in the show closing match of the fourth most bough WWE pay per view of all time! The key attraction was of course The Rock who 'hosted' the event and it all felt more like of an angle for The Great One to establish his own match for a year later. Many old school Attitude Era fans were sold on the fact Rock was hosting Mania 27 and tuned in based on that nostalgia factor. That and the established Mania brand was enough to sell what was in reality a weak card. Undertaker's no holds barred battle against Triple H was the only thing you would really say was a great match on the card. For crying out loud, this was the Mania with The Miz in the main event and Jersey Shore's Snooki in the penultimate match on the card. For us purist fans it sucked but you can't argue with the numbers, the buyrate was a success, mainstream fans obviously digged it.
