7. Kane Trades The Fires Of Hell For The Fiery Hair Of Lita
Who's Involved: Kane, Lita and Matt Hardy What Happened: Often regarded as the lead up to the real life Matt Hardy and Lita debacle, this little ditty ran through the summer of 2004 beginning with a Hardy assault on Kane. The Big Red Machine would continuously pummel Hardy in the following weeks while trying to seduce Lita. Midway through the angle, Kane abducted Lita and held her hostage backstage while simultaneously forcing the Raw GM Eric Bischoff to give her title shots at the Women's championship... weird I know. After failing to capture the women's title, Lita announced that she had fallen pregnant which caused Hardy to come out and propose, it wasn't to be though as Kane interrupted and decreed that he was in fact the father of her child. The whole angle culminated in a 'Till Death Do Us Part Match' at SummerSlam where the winner would earn Lita's hand in marriage. Surprisingly, Kane won the match and wed the red haired starlet the next night on Raw, leading to the infamous Snitsky abortion angle later in the year. Who Lost Out: Despite being kidnapped, impregnated and married against her will, Lita still came second on the list of those who lost out in this story. Matt Hardy would fail to hold Lita from Kane and be forced to take nearly a year off through injury after the angle wrapped up. During that year Lita had a very public affair with fellow wrestler Edge leading to a heated rivalry between the three, but more on that later...
