15 Days That Will Haunt Vince McMahon Forever

8. April 6, 2014: WrestleMania XXX And The End Of The Streak

In the last 10 years or so, one of if not the biggest selling point for WrestleMania was the Undertaker€™s undefeated Streak. Every year someone would try to make a name for themselves at €˜Taker€™s expense, only for them to fall. His bouts with HBK, Triple H and CM Punk in recent years, have been hailed as among the best. Still, most people, from fans, to backstage agents, to legends, didn€™t want the Streak to ever end. So imagine their reactions when it did. The fan response to Brock Lesnar pinning the Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX was a major shock. WrestleMania lost its hottest attraction, and fans around the world were left with the sobering fact that the Undertaker was approaching retirement faster than expected. It also didn€™t help McMahon that the Undertaker had to go to the hospital as soon as he got backstage, and Vince had to abandon the rest of the show to accompany his longtime employee and friend. For years to come, Vince will be haunted by the decision to end the Streak. While the decision certainly garnered WWE some mainstream attention, it was still a decision that, for many people, ruined the point of any WrestleMania matches for the Undertaker in the future. After all, what€™s the point of him wrestling when he has already lost his perfect Streak?
