15 Former NFL Players In Vince McMahon's XFL
7. Connor Cook
In 2017, Connor Cook made history in the National Football League. After injuries in quick succession to Oakland Raiders quarterbacks Derek Carr and Matt McGloin, Cook became the first QB in history to make his first career start in the post-season. Since then however, his career failed to ever truly take off.
The game was not good for Cook, who threw three interceptions compared to just one touchdown as the Raiders crashed out of the playoffs. This was the only start he would ever enjoy in the NFL, as he soon went back to being the third option under centre for Oakland.
Cook will now be offering his services to the Houston Roughnecks in the XFL, after the team selected him with the second overall pick after the initial quarterback round. Since the former Raider will be competing for a starting job with P.J. Walker, a quarterback whose style has drawn comparisons to that of Lamar Jackson, there is no guarantee Cook will see any more playing time in the XFL than he did in the NFL.
