As The Dazzler, attempting to win a talent contest on The JBL & Cole Show with every talent he possessed except professional wrestling, Daniel Bryan became obsessed with wrestling bears. In the old days, pro wrestlers might genuinely be booked to face off against a real life bear for the entertainment of the live audience. The bear (usually an old pro by this point) would be wheeled out and run through the basic sequence of moves and story that he or she had been carefully taught, providing the crowd with a show theyd never forget, no matter how hard they tried. Bob Holly talks about wrestling a bear in his early, pre-WWE career in his unexpectedly brilliant book, The Hardcore Truth. Apparently JBL, in another life, also wrestled a bear. Here, its Daniel Bryans turn with the animal kingdom. https://youtu.be/svPT2MIXWMg?t=4m35s In this next clip from The JBL & Cole Show, Renee Young finally gets to meet the mysterious bear thats been roaming the halls of every venue that the WWE visit for weeks with the usual results. Suddenly, a wild Dazzler appears! With a referee this time, for his second victory over ursa minor. https://youtu.be/Ta__kdPU7SU?t=6m22s Hornswoggle, perennial scapegoat of The JBL & Cole Show, would be kicked in the leprechauns pretty much every week for a calendar year. Now that's dedication to your craft.
