Undoubtedly one of the best performers on the independent scene today is 'The Knockout Artist' Chris Hero. He is an innovative wrestler who has perfected the art of the Rolling Elbow, which has helped him win titles in nearly every promotion he has worked for.

Hero had been wrestling for 11 years by the time he was signed to the WWE. Initially, he debuted in FCW before moving on to NXT, changing his name to Kassius Ohno (KO, get it?) and feuded with William Regal and The Wyatt Family.

Everything seemed to be going well for Chris but behind-the-scenes officials were unhappy with his commitment to the physical conditioning program. This lead to him being pulled from television tapings and eventually released in November 2013.

Although it seemed like a negative way to end a blossoming career, Hero claims that he left on good terms and that WWE would consider him again if circumstances change. Judging by his independent work in 2016, we can only hope that change in circumstances comes around sooner rather than later.
