WWE don't always (read: never) play nice with other promotions, though they at least let Mickie James present her true IMPACT Wrestling self in the Rumble.

This was IMPACT Mickie, not WWE Mickie. Rather than decking her out in her old attire and walking her out to her old music, asking that she skip her way to the ring, WWE embraced 'Hardcore Country.' The Knockouts Champion got her own music, belt, and attitude in St. Louis.

James' attire was part of that. Playing a character closer to who she is than anything she was ever able to do in WWE, she felt real and authentic in her IMPACT gear.
