Rumble He Drew '14': 2013 How Was He Cursed?: Mysterio is, without a doubt, one of the most popular wrestlers of all-time, and has put 20+ years together to form a legendary career. However, in recent years, he has spent more time away from the ring than actually competing in it, as injuries have ravaged his body. His appearance in the 2013 Rumble was his first time on television in over a month, as he was already taking time off to rest his body. Six weeks after the Rumble, he injured his knee and needed to take another eight months off. Five months after making his return, he took more time off, this time to heal a wrist injury, and he hasn't wrestled in the almost nine months since. In the 2014 calendar year, he wrestled a total of 15 matches on television and pay-per-view, coming off the heels of 11 such matches in 2013, 30 matches in 2012, and 42 matches in 2011. During his most recent hiatus, he became locked in a contract dispute with WWE. He wanted to leave, but the company extended his contract, feeling that he "owed" them more time after spending so much time on the injured list in recent years. His return has been talked about a lot in recent months, and now that the 2015 Rumble is just around the corner, many are expecting him to be a surprise entrant. If he enters at #14 again, not only would he be the only person in history to have that distinction twice, but it might be time for him to up his life insurance policy.
