Bob Backlund may be known to a lot of WWE fans as an eccentric, bow tie-wearing old man but, back in his day, he was a fine professional wrestler. Backlund set the longevity record at the 1993 Royal Rumble, beating the record set the previous year by Ric Flair. Was Backlund's performance as good or as celebrated as the history 1992 Flair one? Well, not exactly. The 1993 was one of the least memorable in history and Backlund didn't exactly do a whole lot in the match besides eliminate Fatu and lying around. The Rumble may have been boring but Backlund would claim the longevity record for eleven years, until it was broken once again in 2004.
