15 Mid 90s WWE Superstars You Totally Don't Remember
3. The Executioner (1996)
By 1996, Jim Ross' stock as a WWE talent scout was on the rise. He'd gotten Mick Foley into the company, and Mankind was off to a hot start with the Undertaker after that year's Wrestlemania. However, when he signed a post-stroke Terry Gordy to WWE as The Executioner, it may not have been one of "Good ol JR's" finest moments. Terry Gordy is a territorial and Japanese wrestling legend whose cups of coffee for the WWF in 1984 (less than memorable) and in WCW in 1992 (as a tag team with Steve "Dr. Death" Williams) were noteworthy. Returning for the WWF after suffering a serious stroke in 1993, Gordy was a shell of himself and as a part of Paul Bearer's charges feuding with The Undertaker and was quickly gone from the WWF after losing an Armageddon Rules match at the In Your House 12 pay-per-view.
