In 1985, Buddy Landel was a can't miss prospect for the National Wrestling Alliance being groomed to be NWA Champion who ultimately failed. By 1995, Landel was a can't miss prospect for the World Wrestling Federation being groomed to be WWF Champion who ultimately failed in that role, too. One of the better "good hands" in wrestling history that for a myriad of reasons never quite got a fair shake, the idea that lightning struck twice in different places for him but to no ultimate avail is incredibly heartbreaking.
