15 Most Important WWE Raw Episodes In History

2. Tyson Shoves Austin - January 19th, 1998

On the week where Mike Tyson turned up on Raw and brawled with Stone Cold Steve Austin, WCW Nitro still comfortably defeated Raw in the ratings. But that was only half the story. The importance of the episode was in everything that came afterwards, with the mainstream media picking up on the story and covering it in mainstream news. It put eyes on the WWF, in turn generating a wave of momentum that never really let up. Tyson was legitimately one of the most famous people in the world at that time. Using him on Raw was one of McMahon's greatest ever moves. That episode is credited as being the Raw that saved the WWF and set them on their way to overcoming WCW.
