15 Most Surprising WWE WrestleMania Match Finishes
8. Ultimate Warrior Pins Hulk Hogan Cleanly (WrestleMania 6)
At least, half the audience was shocked by it happening. The Hogan/Warrior title-for-title match in Toronto's Skydome divided the audience, half rooting for time-tested Hogan, and the others for ascendant stud Warrior. Since returning to the company in late-1983, Hogan had not been pinned cleanly. His only televised pinfall loss in that stretch was to Andre the Giant under dubious circumstances in 1988 (Hulk's shoulder was up on a one-count). The epic battle of good vs. good concluded with Warrior avoiding the leg drop, and immediately splashing Hogan's torso for the three-count, with Hulk managing to push Warrior off just after Earl Hebner's hand smacked a third time. The sheer visual of Hogan taking a pinfall loss in that time was simply hard to reconcile.
