The rivalry of sorts between Michael Cole and Daniel Bryan helped in some ways to elevate him from his fellow NXT "rookies", but seeing as many of Cole's comments came during an era in which the WWE looked down on the independents (Triple H definitely wasn't hanging out at shows like Evolve during this time), the commentator drew of a fair bit of criticism for the way he would put down the superstar on a regular basis. A lot has changed since then of course, and Cole has since become one of Bryan's biggest cheerleaders. Don't think his comments are genuine?
