15 Most Unusual Ways To Win A WWE Title

14. Awarding Yourself One

If you're ever stuck with the conundrum of not being able to win a championship in WWE, then why not just invent your own? Even though we're made to believe title belts are a prestigious commodity, there's been a handful of times that WWE superstars have decided to not bother with the effort of winning one of the existing ones, and have simply created their own championship and named themselves as it's holder. The tradition began when Ted DiBiase made the Million Dollar Championship after becoming frustrated that he couldn't get his hands on the WWE title (more on that later), so instead made his own - and inevitably more expensive - belt instead. Due to it not being an official title it was eventually retired, although it had two revivals later on, being awarded to an up and coming Stone Cold Steve Austin, and then by Ted DiBiase Jr. who followed in his father's footsteps by awarding the title to himself. Perpetual try hard Zack Ryder continued the tradition when he created the Internet Championship, because of the popularity of his YouTube show. Contrary to popular belief, Ryder did actually defend the championship, but never lost it; making him the only person to have held it. Thankfully not every wrestler in existence has thought of making and winning their own title like DiBiase & Ryder did, otherwise the replica belt makers would have worn their hands down to a stub to keep up.
