15 Reasons Why Scott Steiner Is The Original Beast Of Wrestling

14. Straight Shooter

At a time when seemingly everyone was cutting shoot promos, no-one could shoot as hard or as personally as “The Genetic Freak”. Loading up on both barrels with home truths and unbridled venom, Steiner would regularly take aim at anyone and everyone that was unfortunate enough to make his enemies list.

It didn’t matter if you were a main event superstar like Diamond Dallas Page or wrestling royalty like Ric Flair, no-one was off limits. Even WCW itself was deemed fair game for Steiner and he wasn’t above bashing the company he called home from time to time, with some of the most legendary unscripted tirades ever broadcast. Few WCW performers could get away with telling viewers that “WCW sucks” on live TV while referencing “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and the talented roster of their direct opposition. Somehow, Scotty Steiner did just that.

Since his departure from the mainstream spotlight, Steiner still occasionally makes his voice heard and, as usual, no name is out of bounds when it comes to the wrath of “Big Poppa Pump”. From Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, Steiner is fearless in his honesty and has no problem speaking his mind - regardless of the consequences. Even WWE’s polarising “Wellness Policy” has found itself caught in the crosshairs which, for many, would be seen as career suicide as far as future bookings with the company go.

But it isn’t all bad press from the mouth of “Freakzilla”. Steiner has no problem giving credit where it’s due; most recently putting over Rey Mysterio and CM Punk during an appearance on Chael Sonnen’s podcast, while Steiner regularly sings the praises fellow amateur standouts - Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar - during his rare interviews.

Regardless of whether it’s good or bad, fans can be sure that whatever comes out of Steiner’s mouth is the truth and well worth paying attention to.
