15 Terrible Matches Triple H Wants You To Forget

7. Triple H Vs. Henry Godwin - Hog Pen Match, In Your House: Seasons Beatings

Somebody had to pay for the infamous Curtain Call incident. To recap: Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall broke kayfabe and embraced in a the ring following a May 19th 1996 house show at Madison Square Garden. This heel/face group hug was seen as incredibly disrespectful by many in the company. Vince had to do something about it. He couldn't punish Hall and Nash, since they were on their way to WCW. Shawn Michaels was WWF Champion, so he was spared. So it was down to midcarder Hunter Hurst Helmsley to bare the brunt of it. He was stripped of his King of the Ring win (he would have to wait until 1997) and depushed for a while in order to set an example. It wasn't the first time that Triple H had to take one for the team, however. He also had to roll around in pig s*** at In Your House: Seasons Beatings in December of 1995. Vince, who finds toilet humour absolutely hilarious, must have gotten a kick out of seeing the Greenwich snob roll around in pig muck.
