15 Terrible Matches Triple H Wants You To Forget

8. Triple H Vs. Brock Lesnar - WrestleMania XXIV

What is it with Triple H and WrestleMania? He's had some great matches at the Grandaddy of Them All but he's also had some absolute bombs, too (several of which appear on this list). Lesnar, too, has not had the best WrestleMania record. He had a cracker with Kurt Angle at XIX, but proceeded to have clangers with Goldberg, The Game and The Undertaker. Lesnar and Triple H are two of the biggest stars in the business and are more than capable of putting on an epic match. You need only look at their cage match from Extreme Rules 2013 for evidence of that. At WrestleMania XXIV things didn't go quite according to the script. The execution was decent, but there were a couple of botches and the crowd was eerily quiet. Perhaps they were burned out from the surprisingly great Undertaker/CM Punk match that had taken place before it. Maybe they were disinterested because the two men had already clashed at SummerSlam the previous year. Whatever the reason, the fact was the match had no heat. Fans didn't start to react until the anticlimactic finish. The match was too long (almost 25 minutes) and Lesnar clearly didn't know how to improvise and react when the crowd were sat on their hands. Triple H tried to play underdog but, let's face it, nobody sees him as the underdog in anything, given the way he has been booked and his status in the company.
