15 Terrible Matches Triple H Wants You To Forget

1. Triple H Vs. Scott Steiner - Royal Rumble 2003

As bad as the aforementioned Triple H versus Scott Steiner No Way Out match was, it was nothing compared to their original shambles the month beforehand at the Royal Rumble. Both guys were entering the match with bad injuries and both guys were clearly carrying too much muscle mass to be able to work smoothly. Steiner was sucking wind about thirty seconds into the match, which was scheduled to go around twenty minutes. He was clearly done and anyone who thought they were getting the suplex throwing machine of just a couple of years ago must have been sorely disappointed. Kicks, punches, rest holds. You name it, this match had it. The fans began losing patience early and completely turned on it about halfway in. They turned on Steiner, which was obviously a bad sign. Worse was yet to come. Steiner was botching moves left, right and centre. You know things are back when Steiner cannot throw a simple suplex without collapsing due to being out of breath. The DQ finish was also unbelievably lame. Both guys may have looked like stars, but their match was about as good as two untrained guys on an small time independent show. Making matters worse, Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit went out right after them and put on an absolute clinic.
