15 Things We Learned From Vince McMahon On The Steve Austin Show
4. Heat With Jim Ross
"Is there heat between you guys?" Austin asked Vince on the subject of Jim Ross. "There's no heat from my standpoint," Vince replied. Apparently, the reason J.R left WWE was due to the problems at the 2K press conference in 2013. Basically, Ric Flair got steaming drunk and J.R allowed a mockery of the event to take place. Corporate sponsors were not happy at Ross' unprofessional handling of proceedings. "There was an incident in Los Angeles and it was very unprofessional and very unlike Jim," McMahon commented. Austin went a bit further in asking about his friend and why WWE don't use his expertise. McMahon stated that J.R had wanted to spend more time in Oklahoma, so it had really became impossible for him to have an office job. That's foolish in many ways. As a consultant who checks in over the phone and internet, there'd be a hell of a lot of value in J.R's advice. Regimented thinking and bureaucracy is again WWE's enemy on this one. "I like Jim, he has a lot of institutional knowledge and I'm not sure we won't get back together," McMahon added.
