Yes, that infamous Hell In A Cell war vs. The Undertaker is the main selling point for the season six opener, but this is more of a deep dive into Mick’s psyche and career than you might think. Once VICE got done poring over King Of The Ring 1998, they turned their immediate attentions to what happened next. The following 10 mins or so were dedicated to Foley's follow-up ‘I Quit’ match with The Rock at the 1999 Royal Rumble.

That was immortalised in Beyond The Mat, and it's been well established that Mick's young family were traumatised by what they witnessed that night. Colette called it “one of the worst days of [her] life”. Meanwhile, Jim Cornette said Mick “got brain damage for a f*cking wrestling angle on television” due to all the chair shots Rocky gave him.

According to Mick, they'd planned for 5 chairs to the head. The Rock gave him 11. At least. That didn't sit well with Foley once he recovered from the bout (which 'Dark Side' didn't really go into), but he also gets a sick satisfaction out of knowing they shocked and stunned everyone watching. Regrettably, that also included his children and wife at ringside.

VICE then managed to pack some serious context into the final 10 minutes or so of the doc. You won't believe some of the stories that were waiting right at the end. Some might've tuned out once the HIAC chat concluded. If so, then they missed out on some real human drama stuff that struck a chord.
