8. Giving Sting The Crow Gimmick
Hall says it was at that first Nitro that he gave Sting the gimmick that would not only revitalize his career but make him the hottest wrestler in the business for about 18 months. The man who was considered WCW's franchise had been growing out his hair and letting it revert to his natural darker color because dying it blonde had been taking a toll on it. Hall asked if he was growing his hair out, and when he told him he was he asked "Are you still going to wear the happy guy tights?" and he responded that he was. Scott asked Sting if he'd ever seen The Crow, and when he said he hadn't he began to explain the character to him, adding "I'm not telling you to rip off Undertaker, but rip off Undertaker." Sting went and researched the character, pitched it to Eric Bischoff and they ran with it to amazing results.
