15 Things We Learned From Shawn Michaels On Stone Cold's WWE Network Podcast
5. His Personal Relationship With Vince
Stone Cold talks about how both men ran hard in their day and got pretty out of control, and in regards to how HBK mentioned that Vince had to talk them both off the ledge a few times he wants to know how those conversations between he and his boss would go down. Shawn responds that when he came back in 2002 he apologized for everything he put him through, and Vince told him he always knew it was inside him but he needed to see it for himself. He compares it to when he was threatening to leave for WCW and McMahon assured him he wouldn't be happy there, commenting that the money would be great but he wouldn't be creatively fulfilled. Michaels says that while it is a business, for guys like him and Austin money was never the motivating factor, adding that when they broke into the industry there wasn't a lot of money to be made. When it go to the point where they could have a real life it was a huge bonus. HBK never actually answered the question that Austin asked, whether it was an intentional desire not to rehash that part of his life or he just got sidetracked.
