15 Things We Learned From Shawn Michaels On Stone Cold's WWE Network Podcast
6. Contrasting Vince & Hunter
When discussing Triple H and how much he's learned from Vince, Shawn makes a great point about Hunter having something that McMahon never did. He says that the one knock against Vince was that, despite the fact that he got in the ring and tried his hardest, he never really understood the business from the wrestler's perspective. Hunter, on the other hand, has picked up much of McMahon's knowledge about the business and creative side, while also having the context of being a worker. Austin says Vince has served as a father, uncle, mentor, friend and a psychiatrist and that he considers him as a father figure, but thinks that's an interesting point Shawn made and says that gives Triple H a well-rounded base. Shawn points out that Vince had to talk both he and Steve off the ledge plenty of times and save them from themselves but that Hunter is the one guy he never had to do that with. Shawn says out of the people who've came through the doors of WWE, Triple H didn't come in with any baggage or insecurities and that made him a "perfectly moldable entity." He remarks that he had the one puzzle piece that McMahon didn't have and he thinks that bodes well for the future.
