13. The Competitive Dynamic Between Shawn & Bret Hart
Austin compliments both HBK and Bret Hart saying that both men are neck and neck when he lists his favorite workers, adding that he originally thought of Shawn as a high spot artists before he blew him away with his performances. He asks how competitive the two rivals were with each other. MIchaels said it started out not very competitive; they were friends who had mutual respect for each other. He says when Bret won the championship he was happy for him because he viewed it as a changing of the guard and Hart told him he saw him following in his footsteps and becoming "the next guy." He adds that he thinks becoming "the guy" happened for Shawn a little sooner than Bret would have liked it to, but looking back with some perspective he understands it now.
