15 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Vince McMahon

1. The Steroid Trial

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tty3xO6R-U8 In 1994, Vince was on trial for allegedly distributing steroids to his wrestlers. Did many of Vince's wrestlers use steroids? Of course they did. Many of them have admitted that they did. It's hard to look like a 1980s WWE superstar without some form of chemical enhancement. Former wrestler Nailz (who had been fired after a violent confrontation with Vince) testified that his boss had ordered him to use the performance enhancing drugs. This, and other testimony (from the likes of Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan) created a media frenzy. WWE has claimed in recent years that the trial nearly 'brought down the company', but, ultimately, Vince was found not guilty due to lack of evidence. There was an effect on WWE programming too. They started pushing less of the muscle bound guys and more of the smaller guys as men like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels became top guys. WWE really had to clean up their image. You may hear some things brought up about McMahon on WWE programming that is used in a joking way. The steroid trial of 1994 won't be one of them. It's one of those topics that is off limits and we can certainly understand why.
