During Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase's crusade to become WWE Champion, he set out to prove that money can indeed get you anything you want, by making several attempts at buying the title instead of winning it. The champion at the time was Hulk Hogan, and with him being an upstanding citizen of course, Hogan refused to sell it. DiBiase tried to defeat Hogan in the ring, but could never get it done. DiBiase turned to Andre the Giant instead, and he successfully defeated Hogan for the championship. He then literally sold it it DiBiase, making him the shortest reigning WWE Champion in history, with a reign lasting less than one minute. Fake WWE President Jack Tunney overturned the purchase of the title, rendering it vacant and not recognising Ted DiBiase as an official champion. The lesson was money can't always get what you want. Or you should make sure you always bribe Jack Tunney first.
