15 Wrestlers Every WWE Superstar Should Study

15. Randy Savage

Prime Years: 1985 - 1991 Why He Should Be Studied: Macho Man Randy Savage is one of the greatest all-round performers the business has ever seen. Far from being the tallest or the most muscular, Savage made it to the top of the industry thanks to his amazing charisma, consistently brilliant performances and his dedication to his character. Indeed, few were as completely into maintaing kayfabe and always being 'on' as Savage was. He was so into being the Macho Man that you really believed he was that guy. Savage had what people call 'red light fever', in that whenever the camera was rolling, he would transform into his character and not let up the act until he was back in the showers. Savage was also a great promo, too. A total perfectionist, Savage would do take after take after take, if necessary, until his work met his own high standards. In the ring, Savage would sometimes plan out big matches move for move, so that they came off as he envisaged it in his mind. This perfectionism deserves to be studied because, a lot of the time, it is perfect (or very close to it, anyway). Obviously Damien Sandow has spent some time watching Savage content on the WWE Network recently.
