3. Mr X Is The First Masked Wrestler - 1984

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-_PGECB6ck Masked wrestlers have been around for what feels like forever. When most mainstream media pictures professional wrestling, there€™s always at least one photo or video showing off a guy wearing a mask. Dating to the early period of Mexican Lucha Libre, masked wrestlers have always had an appeal to them that makes kids want to wear a mask of their own as they beat up their stuffed toys and little brothers. In WWE, quite a number of wrestlers have donned a mask to conceal their identity from their foes. Kane and Rey Mysterio are the names that normally pop up first in any list of masked WWE wrestlers, but one that may not be as noticeable on that same list is Mr. X. Mr. X, who competed between 1984 and 1986, is considered by many to be the first official WWE (WWF) wrestler who wore a mask during his bouts. Mr. X won€™t be found in too many other record books due to always being booked as a jobber when he faced guys like Ricky Steamboat and Bruno Sammartino, but when he faced Steamboat in his debut match, he became a small part of wrestling history. And who was the man under the mask? None other than €œDangerous€ Danny Davis.
