We’ve seen WWE pull this stunt before, trimming down tag team wrestlers’ names for whatever reason.

In this case, former Wyatt Family members Luke Harper and Erick Rowan returned from an extended hiatus, reforming as a tag team, but looking decidedly different. Although they’re the same two men, they now are dubbed the Bludgeon Brothers, wearing matching ring outfits and carrying oversized hammers.

WWE isn’t pretending that they are different people, but they decided that since they are now a “new” team, they no longer need their first names. We’ll see how that works out for them.
