12. (Adrian) Neville

Before he became the King of the Cruiserweights, Neville was one of the longest-reigning NXT Champions in history.

In NXT, he went by Adrian Neville, and he enjoyed a successful run in the developmental territory before debuting on the main roster in 2015, shedding his first name, but gaining a cape. Despite arriving to a lot of fanfare and having a dazzling, high-octane offense, he floundered for his first two years, alternating between receiving attention from the writers and being largely ignored.

A heel turn and a move to 205 Live reinvigorated his career, as he spent much of 2017 having great matches, albeit on PPV kickoff shows, defending the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Shortly after losing it to Enzo Amore, Neville walked out of WWE, and he hasn’t appeared on their programming since.
