In a spot replayed thousands of times of WWE television, Davey Boy Smith threw Michaels over the top rope and was convinced hed won the match. Michaels climbed back in and pushed the British Bulldog over the top rope, and it was then revealed that one of the Shawn Michaels feet had hit the floor, so he had legitimately won. Michaels lost his championship match at WrestleMania XI but would win the Rumble again the following year, setting up the legendary Iron Man match with Bret Hart. In the years since his return from injury, Michaels has had little success, with his 2007 performance being an exception, where he was in the final two but was eliminated by The Undertaker. Other than that, one memorable moment comes from 2005 with his quick elimination of Kurt Angle, who immediately returned the favour before blasting Michaels with the steel steps. It set up a killer feud that spawned three incredible matches, at WrestleMania XXI, Vengeance 2005, and finally Raw Homecoming in a 30-Minute Iron Man match.
