16 Best WWE Debuts And Returns Of 2018
6. Rey Mysterio
One of the legitimate surprises in 2018, Rey Mysterio’s return at the Royal Rumble was a real “OMG” moment.
Then we saw him again at Greatest Royal Rumble in April. But that wasn’t the end of Mysterio’s return. The masked luchador re-signed with WWE and returned to the roster fulltime in October, winning his first match back against United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and entering a feud with Randy Orton. Mysterio defeated Orton at TLC earlier this month.
Mysterio’s initial surprise return was an incredible moment, and he’s been put right back into the mix on SmackDown as an upper-tier star, which is a fair spot for a multi-time world champion. There’s a good chance we could see Rey capture US gold at some point in 2019.
