Brock Lesnar's incredible ability was distilled in the night two opener.

Everybody knew how the match was going to go. Whoever produced it had the easiest night of their professional career.

Omos had to strike and throw Brock Lesnar at his mercy.

Lesnar had to sell and convince the crowd that he was unable to lift Omos from his feet.

He then had to lift Omos from his feet, nail him with a series of German suplexes, and then initially fail to hit the F5 in order to register it as a monumental feat of strength when he actually did it.

It was one of the most predictable matches in the history of the medium.

It was also really quite tremendous in its own, über simplistic way. Brock did convince the crowd that he was unable to lift Omos from his feet because he is one of the best sellers in wrestling history and so rarely does sell that it means something when he does. The actual throws looked as good as they possibly could have, and fair play to Omos: he patrolled the ring with a menace that has eluded him since his WWE debut, and his blows to Lesnar's back actually looked debilitating. Lesnar wasn't selling for anything.

A minor triumph, the likes of which all of wrestling - and its deadening obsession with relentless back-and-forth 15-minute -plus matches - should do more of.

Star Rating: ★★★½
