All three members of the Shield were destined for greatness. Back when they were still a trio, Dean Ambrose was the speaker, Seth Rollins was the technical high-flyer, and Roman Reigns was the powerhouse. Yet even when they were split up and began feuding with each other, all three of them were still doing well and on their way to becoming bigger stars. However, out of all three of them, Reigns was the one that WWE seemed to favor the most. Reigns has the look, and was given a lot of screen time to show off his skills. Though not as technically gifted as his former Shield brethren, he was still getting a huge ovation from the crowd, especially when he gave Triple H a Superman punch. All of that, unfortunately, came to a grinding halt the night before Night of Champions, when he had to undergo an emergency hernia operation, putting him on the shelf for at least six weeks. This sudden injury couldnt possibly have come at a worse time, as WWE was desperate to try and build more new stars to deal with other injured and hurt stars (more on that later). WWEs attempt at another top star whose goal was to become the next top guy was sidelined just when he was most needed by the WWE. Though Reigns was often criticized for being pushed too hard too soon, it is important to note that he improved a lot between 2012 and 2013, and was getting loud ovations in 2014. He already holds the new record for most Rumble eliminations in a single match, and is widely believed to win the 2015 Royal Rumble, and might even win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 31. Reigns desperately needs to get back in to a WWE ring; fans are tired of seeing the same stars in the main events every week, and it is possible that Romans presence will add some much-needed diversity to the top of the card.
