10. That Wrestler You Like Is Probably Screwed
If you’ve been wondering where certain wrestlers who used to have a higher profile have vanished to, then falconarrow had a few answers for you. Asked whether Fandango was ever going to have more time on mainstream WWE television, the answer wasn’t hopeful...
“Probably not. Multiple chances to get himself over and from what I know, just doesnt go balls out with the angles.”
The forecast was even gloomier when it came to Tyler Breeze, a recent call-up from NXT with a huge upside as a character and a performer. Asked very simply whether he had any kind of future in the company:
"I would be guessing no sadly."
Jesus, that’s harsh. Seriously, you have to ask yourself some fairly serious questions as a wrestling promoter if you can’t get a talent like Prince Pretty over.
But it was Damien Sandow who had the worst of it. The runner-up of the 2015 Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal was deliberately one of the first eliminated in this year’s edition of the bout. He’s recently gotten so desperate that he’s urging his Twitter followers to sign a White House petition for more TV time (sign it, go on). Asked about his future, the outlook wasn’t great:
“Bleak. I honestly think they should let him go. Stop teasing the poor guy and let him try to hit up Japan… I think there will be a firing spree coming up as it needs to happen with all the NXT they want to bring up. Most likely will be Sandow from my guess next.”
Given that all three men are best known for running narcissistic heel gimmicks, they could do worse than teaming them: I, for one would love to see the Social Outcasts, the New Day, the Wyatts and the League Of Nations have another three man team to play with.
