16 Things We Learned From Paul Heyman On The Steve Austin Show

16. The First Time The Two Met

We open with a little trademark brown-nosing from Paul before Steve admits that he's had him on the show several times so they're just going to go back and forth and shoot the breeze. Austin says that after all the chair shots he's taken he can't remember how the two first met and asks Paul to remind him. Heyman says that they met at Center Stage Theater in Atlanta when Steve was sitting backstage with his then-wife Jeannie Clark, and Paul says he caught his attention right away and asked Jim Ross about him, who immediately praised him. He said he intended to introduce himself to Austin but someone asked him to go into the ring and the man who would become the biggest star in the business just started running the ropes. Heyman says he looked at Ross and said "We just scored with this kid." Five weeks later they were placed together.
