16 Things We Learned From Paul Heyman On The Steve Austin Show
15. The Birth Of The Dangerous Alliance
Heyman says he had gotten suspended but was brought back to be Rick Rude's manager, with the idea of building a new Four Horsemen-type stable around Rude. Paul said he had his eye on adding Austin because he thought of him as the next big thing in the business. He says he called Dusty Rhodes to sell him on the idea and reenacts their conversation - doing an excellent American Dream impersonation - and after some initial resistance, reminds Rhodes that Stunning Steve is from Texas, at which point Dusty was on board and took full credit for the idea. Austin asks if Rude was okay with him being a part of the group and Paul says that he definitely was, which pleases Steve because he had such tremendous respect for The Ravishing One.
