16 Things We Learned From William Regal On Talk Is Jericho

7. Choking The Lead Singer Of Quiet Riot

regal william Following the brawl with the Vegas bouncers, Regal was scheduled to do media the next morning to promote the WCW shows. When he arrived at the radio station he immediately felt a strong dislike for the DJ and his €œbig, stupid wig€ but couldn€™t put his finger on why. Turns out it was Kevin DuBrow, the former lead singer of Quiet Riot. For a little background, Regal€™s favorite band is Slade. Quiet Riot€™s biggest hit was a cover of Slade€™s €œCum On Feel The Noize, and they followed that up with a second cover of the band€™s €œMama, Weer All Crazee Now.€ During the course of the interview DuBrow asks him what music he likes and the wrestler responds that he€™s a big Slade fan, to which DuBrow snidely adds that he €œmade those guys a lot of money.€ Regal €“ still half in the bag €“ took offense to the statement and an argument ensued that led to him grabbing the singer by the throat and threatening to knock the stupid wig off his head while vociferously defending the honor of his favorite band. Eventually he was able to be restrained and removed from the radio station, and Regal has no doubt that this incident contributed to his being fired.
