As we draw to a close, Jericho asks the standard final question and without hesitation the top bout on Regals list is a 1991 match vs. Robbie Brookside in Brighton, England. They wrestled six five-minute rounds in front of a lot of veteran wrestlers and it was the first time hed ever received a standing ovation. His second favorite was vs. Edge at the Yokohama Arena in Japan, where they opened the show and tore the house down. He says it was the one match in WWE where he felt This is me. This is as good as its going to get here. It was the WWEs first time in Japan in ten years and the crowd was on fire. Regal points out that in 31 years of wrestling minus a year where he was sick, plus suspensions and injuries hes had less than two years off. He calls himself a bit player in the world of wrestling but if you look at the list of people hes wrestled, thatll never happen again. Hes been in the ring with Antonio Inoki, Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, as well as greats from all around the world and hes been a very lucky man. This was one of the best Talk Is Jericho episodes ever, with very little actual questions because Regal just spends the entire podcast telling stories and espousing his vast knowledge. Hes given a lot to the business and has so much more to contribute to the young wrestlers under his tutelage in NXT. His attitude toward his addictions is refreshing and inspiring and hes such a captivating storyteller that itd be a breeze to sit through another couple of hours.
