Big Cass dropped a nasty botch early in his match with Daniel Bryan, failing to bump for his opponent's drop toe hold.
What should have been a straightforward flop to the ground turned into a stodgy mess, as the seven-footer crumpled to the mat in stages, drawing obligatory "you can't wrestle!" from the fiery Chicago crowd. An unfortunate moment for the big man, but he redeemed himself as the match progressed.
Cass vs. Bryan finished in better form. This was largely down to Bryan, who worked like a maniac, but regardless, it was comfortably the best singles match of Cass' career. Some limb selling issues aside, he played a solid Goliath to Bryan's David, and forced his army of critics to eat their words with a performance that didn't steal the show, but more than made those "you can't wrestle!" chants look stupid.
