16 Things You Might Have Missed From Last Night’s WWE SmackDown

12. Tom Phillips Ignoring CM Punk

Tom Phillips took everyone on a trip down memory lane by referencing Jeff Hardy's WWE Title loss at Extreme Rules 2009, and he (rather conveniently) neglected to mention the most important part of it.

That night, CM Punk cashed in his MITB privileges to beat Jeff following Hardy's Ladder Match win over Edge moments earlier. Phillips skimmed over the drama, only claiming Jeff had been a "victim"; it's a good thing the fans didn't hear him say this, otherwise WWE might have had to dampen chants for Punk again.

Ignoring important parts of company history is one of those annoying traits WWE show when someone they're not all buddied up with is referenced. That seemed to be the case here.
