16 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Double Or Nothing 2019

10. Brandi's Bait & Switch

An angle reminiscent of the Hardy Boyz' WrestleMania 33 return played out before the scheduled Nyla Rose vs. Kylie Rae vs. Dr. Britt Baker match, when Brandi Rhodes walked out before the bell, teasing that she was about to insert herself into the bout as she stripped down to her ring gear.

This wasn't the case. Rather than getting in the ring herself, Rhodes was out to introduce her newest charge in Awesome Kong, who hadn't appeared in a major American promotion since January 2016.

This was a well-played bait and switch, with the crowd popping themselves daft for Kong after preparing to boo Brandi out of the building. It was great to see Kong back, too. Nobody saw her debut coming, even though she was one of the biggest names AEW could have realistically picked up, so here's hoping she has signed a contract and this wasn't just a one-time deal.
