16 Worst-To-Best Matches Of WWE's Summerslam Weekend
13. Jushin Thunder Liger Defeated Tyler Breeze
Tyler Breeze is a work in progress as WWE's version of a "highspot-friendly indy-style performer." Thus, his match with Jushin Liger may have been a little too early in his evolution to have the impact it needed. While yes, it was amazing to see Liger in a WWE ring, Breeze isn't quite near Liger's level yet, so it underwhelmed. If you're bringing over Jushin Liger, the better idea would've been to have him face someone like Neville or Sami Zayn. However, neither of them were available, so the task fell to Breeze who worked hard, but it wasn't nearly enough to elevate the match. A better opponent for Tyler Breeze? As crazy as it sounds, Jerry "The King" Lawler. Breeze is definitely more of a gimmick guy who works well when his highspots are fewer and further between and he can work on putting the heat on babyfaces, which may be the weakest part of his performance arsenal. This was a terrific idea, but definitely lacked in execution.
