16 Wrestlers Who Must Feature In WWE's Crown Jewel World Cup

10. Saudi Arabia - Mansoor Al-Shehail (Sidgwick)

In 2018, WWE can get away with getting real weird with it.

Really, nothing matters much anymore. Wins and losses no longer alter career trajectories, the first two or three matches of any programme amount to filler, WWE doesn’t listen to the fans, those fans remain fans, yada yada yada, let’s book a guy from Saudi Arabia to win the World Cup in Saudi Arabia.

So why not book Al-Shehail to win the whole thing? Is that any dafter a proposition than Jinder Mahal: WWE Heavyweight Champion? Than Shawn Michaels first locking horns with f*cking Kane on his in-ring return?

Al-Shehail may not be a name, or any good—though Dory Funk Jr. had a hand in his training, and he is a veritable star-maker—but, should the home nation hero amount a decent challenge, his path may awaken a largely disinterested crowd.
