16 WWE Superstars Who Did Not Belong At WrestleMania

12. Santina Marella

WrestleMania XXV was the setting for a Divas Battle Royal the brought past and present together to celebrate 25 years of the Showcase of the Immortals. With tremendous talent the likes of Beth Phoenix, Melina and Mickie James, and unforgettable beauties such as Torrie Wilson and Sunny making up the field, fans had many suitable choices to root on as the ladies battled for the right to be named Miss WrestleMania. It is all the more surprising that Santino Marella, dressed in drag and pretending to be sister "Santina," wound up winning the thing. What should have been a spotlight match for women's wrestling was but another opportunity to take the comedic character and put him/her front and center at the expense of the company's entire female roster. The Santina character stuck around much longer than it should have, as is often the case with characters that no one but Vince McMahon finds entertaining, before disappearing from television altogether. And not a minute too soon.
