16 WWE Superstars Who Did Not Belong At WrestleMania
13. Genichiro Tenryu
Genichiro Tenryu is one of the greatest pound-for-pound wrestlers in the long history of Japanese professional wrestling. Vince McMahon's relationship with All-Japan Pro Wrestling and Tenryu's Super World of Sports helped necessitate the appearance, but that does not mean it was necessary. In fact, Tenryu belonged nowhere near WrestleMania VII. His match on that card, a tag team contest that saw him and Koji Kitao squash the remnants of Demolition, was meaningless. There was no big push for the Japanese tandem going forward. The win made no difference, serving only as the final nail in the Demolition coffin. Tenryu, a Hall of Fame-worthy wrestler, saw his one appearance on the grand stage become a footnote in history, a match forgotten among the hundreds that have occurred over the last 31 years.
