4. Friar Ferguson/Bastian Booger
Mike Shaw had to deal with two particularly bad gimmicks during his WWF tenure. His first was that of Friar Ferguson, a mad monk. The Catholic Church was obviously upset with this gimmick, and managed to successfully pressure the WWF to remove it. If Shaw had any hopes for a better gimmick afterwards, he would be sorely disappointed. His next gimmick was that of Bastion Booger, a slovenly, unkempt slob who sort of looked like a hunchback. He was never meant to have any success as the character, taking on the role of jobber to the stars. He did have a brief feud with Bam Bam Bigelow over his manager Luna Vachon, but nothing afterwards. Shaw was quite possibly cursed with the worst ring name of all time. No one wants to cheer for a guy named Booger, so it makes perfect sense that his career was doomed the moment that name was announced.
