17 Reasons WrestleMania 17 Is The Greatest Wrestling PPV Ever

15. The Announce Team

A month prior to Wrestlemania, on the Tuesday after No Way Out, Jerry Lawler abruptly left the WWF after they let go Stacy Carter, better known as The Kat, who apparently had an attitude problem with the Right to Censor storyline she was in. Lawler was replaced with Paul Heyman, who had recently come off folding ECW due to financial problems. Wrestlemania was the first Pay Per View with the JR/Heyman combination, and with all due respect to the iconic Ross/Lawler team, Heyman€™s inclusion added a level of seriousness that Lawler€™s carefree attitude wasn€™t tailored to. Heyman had some gold lines during the show such as €œthis is as excited as a man can get with his pants still on€ referring to the Kurt Angle/Chris Benoit match, and screaming €œthe title€™s on the line!€ before a major nearfall in the Rock/Austin match. JR and Heyman were commentary gold for the show.
